Python eat Big Dog in Bangkok

7:14 PM

This snake video took place a few days ago in Bangkok, Thailand, in a busy area called the Burana district only a few miles from where I lived last year. This snake is a non venomous 12 foot reticulated python common to Southeast Asia. [Eunectes murinus]

Reticulated Pythons can be found all over Thailand and are not uncommon in the city of Bangkok where they hide in the filthy creeks throughout the city limits and prey on stray dogs, cats, and other animals they find. Pythons can swallow animals up to twice their weight and this dog proved to be a little too much for him to handle as he couldn’t move after eating the animal which hindered his escape allowing locals and tourist to film the incident.

These snakes swallow their prey headfirst and live up to 20 years in the wild. It’s name “Reticulated” refers to the intricate pattern on it’s skin They are the Longest growing snake species in the world, with rumors of these species growing over 30 feet. Medusa is the Longest Snake in Captivity which currently lives in Kansas City [Guinness Book of World Records] Largest Snake EVER comes from Prehistoric times and is called the Titanoboa

The python species in this video can get so big that they can even eat cows. Although Pythons grow big enough to eat humans, they are not normally considered a threat, the most deadly snake in the world is actually a very small, highly venomous & aggressive viper. This snake was eventually taken by a snake handler and will not be harmed. As for the dog, it’s very unfortunate, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
