World’s Most Feared Soldiers – British Army Royal Gurkha Rifles

The Royal Gurkha Rifles Regiment leads the way in the final phase of Exercise Saber Strike.

The Royal Gurkha Rifles (RGR) is a rifle regiment of the British Army, forming part of the Brigade of Gurkhas.

Unlike other regiments in the British army, soldiers are recruited from Nepal, which is neither a dependent territory of the United Kingdom nor a member of the Commonwealth.

The Gurkhas are a unique unit in the Army with a reputation of being amongst the finest and most feared soldiers in the world. The Victorians identified them as a “martial race”, perceiving in them particularly masculine qualities of toughness.

Their motto is: Better to die than live a coward.

Guaranteed vs. Non-Guaranteed Permanent Life Insurance Policies
Fifty years ago, most life insurance policies sold were guaranteed and offered by mutual fund companies. Choices were limited to term, endowment or whole life policies. It was simple, you paid a high, set premium and the insurance company guaranteed the death benefit. All of that changed in the 1980s. Interest rates soared, and policy owners surrendered their coverage to invest the cash value in higher interest paying non-insurance products. To compete, insurers began offering interest-sensitive non-guaranteed policies.

Guaranteed versus Non-Guaranteed Policies
Today, companies offer a broad range of guaranteed and non-guaranteed life insurance policies. A guaranteed policy is one in which the insurer assumes all the risk and contractually guarantees the death benefit in exchange for a set premium payment. If investments underperform or expenses go up, the insurer has to absorb the loss. With a non-guaranteed policy the owner, in exchange for a lower premium and possibly better return, is assuming much of the investment risk as well as giving the insurer the right to increase policy fees. If things don’t work out as planned, the policy owner has to absorb the cost and pay a higher premium.

In Nepal, the modeling profession began a very long time ago when Filmmaking started in the 1960s. Later, it was greatly supported through several other platforms like Miss Nepal from 1994 A.D which brought a bit more professionalism in the modeling career. Models are featured in a variety of media through books, magazines, movies, newspapers, television, blogs, videos etc. To be a model it is vital that both male and female models must possess clear skin, healthy natural hair, a well maintained physique, slim (for females) / muscular (for males) body and attractive facial features. Thursday marked 70 years of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima

The World War I and II saw the destruction of humanity that took lives of many people. The year 1945 August, during the final stage of the Second World War, the United States dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki . The two bombings, took the lives of at least 129,000 people, remain the only use of nuclear weapons for warfare in history. The August 6th is remembered every day for those whose innocent lives are ended. Thursday marks 70 years to the day since the United States dropped the world’s first atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later it dropped a second on the city of Nagasaki. The devastation is widely believed to have brought an abrupt end to World War Two – with Japan’s surrender. But what about the appalling human cost of the bombing? Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reports from Hiroshima. The incident of atomic bombing horrified the world and the human for their lives. Even in the present the surviving family members eventually remembered the day when hundreds of thousands died. Injured people were asking for water. But we were told not to give water because they would die after the first sip, which was true. Survivors remembered how brutal and gruesome was the period when people were dying. While the disaster’s immediate aftermath was equally fraught, a general sentiment prevailed that the challenges unfolding were preferable to being at war, according to Mrs Nakabushi. The people suffered through sad and harsh experiences. Despite all the distress, they were sure it wasn’t just them that thought, ’It’s better than war.’  For Mrs Nakabushi, the bombing – and the loss of her mother – dictated the course of her life, as was the case for thousands of traumatised hibakusha. She sees herself as one of the lucky ones: after living in Hiroshima with her father and stepmother, she married her university academic husband and moved to Osaka at the age of 25, before having three children, now in their forties. For in addition to the injuries and stress, many survivors – and later, their children – were stigmatised and rejected by Japan’s deeply homogenous society as a result of their experiences. Women suffered rejection from marriage partners fearful that they would not produce healthy babies, while employers also discriminated against hibakusha, making it difficult for them to return to the workforce. The radiation exposure has clearly not disappeared – as alarmingly reflected in the aftermath of the 2011 Fukushima crisis, when local residents were reportedly shunned from clinics and refugee camps for fear of “contaminating” others. -

Interview with archana paneru and trisana budhathoki

Lilisha Shrestha talks to designer Rasna Shrestha about her collection at the Vancouver Fashion Week 2015 and about her aspirations as a fashion designer. My collection at TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2014 was my gateway to Vancouver Fashion Week. They liked my collections and found me through Facebook. They approached me to be a part of their show. Among 115 designers from all over the world I was the only one from Nepal. It was quite an honour to be welcomed by all.

How did it feel to represent your country on such big a platform?

Since they’d never had a designer from Nepal in the show they were looking to see what I had to offer, more like, what Nepal had to offer. My collection was appreciated and praised by the attendees because my haute couture was uniquely themed as the ‘Princess Diaries’. It was an overwhelming experience for me. I felt proud to be a Nepali.

Tell us about your collection.

My collection was a reflection of purity and innocence. I portrayed the images of fairy princesses from our childhood stories.

You showed a video ‘Travel Nepal Help Nepal’ at the show. What did you expect from it?

Vancouver Fashion Show is an international platform for designers from different countries around the world. With so much exposure under one roof this was an opportune moment for me to promote our country in the international market. My friends and I synced and edited the earthquake photographs and the video provided to us by Nepal Tourism Board and produced a single video for the show. I hope we sent a message out to the world that Nepal is now ready to be explored post- earthquake.

The fact that snakes can shed their skin has always fascinated those with a curious mind, especially children. There is just something about an animal that can slide out of its skin once or twice a month that fires the imagination. But while snake shedding is the common phrase used to describe this process, it's not entirely accurate. In truth, snakes do not shed their skin. They shed a layer of ... well, shed. They retain their skin after shedding (obviously), and their skin is usually much more vibrant immediately after the shed

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world; most people have never used a telephone, never mind a computer, the staple diet for most of the country is ‘dhal batt’ – rice and/or lentils with maybe some veg – every day, for life. The terrain is a mix of three altitude zones; the Himalayan mountains – the so called ‘roof of the world’, their foothills and valleys, and the southern plains with some rainforest. The Kathmandu valley is the centre of administration, commerce and what industry there is. The country is a mix of 70% Hindu and 20% Buddhist religions (Buddha was born in Lumbini in the south), 4% Muslims who are clustered around the border with India, plus a few more obscure sects. In the Kathmandu valley a synthesis of Hinduism and Buddhism is practiced by the Newars, while in the eastern and western hills, the oldest religious form, Shamanism, still survives. 80% of the population work in agriculture, an estimated 40% live in extreme poverty. Gross national income per head stands at US $240, according to the World Bank. Illiteracy is very high, though diminishing gradually; 35% of men, 70% of women.(1) The industrial working class is clustered around the Kathmandu valley and a few other urban areas; the unions claim several hundred thousand members but the figures are questionable; membership fluctuates considerably due to casualised employment and changing political loyalties. Many workers are non-unionised(2). There is a rigid caste system, but religion doesn’t appear to be significant in party politics, apart from the class/caste aspect. Slavery was officially abolished in the early 1900’s, though a form of neo-slavery continued well into the 1990’s in some more remote rural areas; family debts were inherited by the children and could never realistically be worked off as more debt was added, so were passed on in turn to the next generation as a form of indentured servitude. This is now outlawed, but indentured villagers are still occasionally discovered and rescued from such slavery. Yet these local archaic feudal remnants co-exist alongside a tourist industry that provides internet cafes with global satellite connections.

Nepalese foreign worker on duty in south korea

The South Korean human resource department has allocated 5,700 jobs to Nepali workers for 2014 under the Employment Permit System ( EPS ). The workers will be selected from a roster of some 9,700 aspirant Nepali migrants who have successfully completed the Korean language test. South Korea had hired 5,234 Nepali migrants in 2013.
Korea Employment Permit System ( EPS ) in Nepal said the quotas will be applicable to those who will work in the manufacturing sector. The ceiling allocated to Nepali workers is the fourth largest in terms of quantity after Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
South Korea currently hires workers from fifteen countries under the EPS and plans to hire some 53,000 workers this year. Around 64,000 were hired last year. Lee Dong Sirk, human resource director at the Korea EPS centre in Nepal, said his government has given priority to Nepali workers despite overall fall in job demands due to their good track records and the tendency to return back home. “Those who have three years of work experience in Korea can apply again after passing the special Korea language test. The recruitment process has been simplified for such workers,” Lee told reporters on Friday.
The EPS centre in Nepal holds a special language test every three months. The upcoming test will be held on March 12 and the exam forms can be collected from February 26 to March 2. The result of the test will be published on March 31. For both fresh workers and reentrants, successfully completing the Korean language test alone does not guarantee a job in Korea, the centre added.

Donald Kirk told CNN on Sunday that his son, Daniel Kirk, was on the balloon when it crashed. The 66-year-old Army veteran had been piloting balloons for more than 30 years, lived for flying and never flew if the weather conditions weren't right, his father said. Luke Aikins – Heaven Sent ~ Record Breaking No Parachute Jump

Skydiver Luke Aikins has become the first person to jump from a plane into a net on the ground without the benefit of a parachute.

Aikins hit the 100-by-100-foot net perfectly, quickly climbed out of it and walked over to hug his wife, who had been watching with other family members.

Just before climbing into a plane to make the jump, Aikins said he had been ordered to wear a parachute but indicated he wouldn’t open it.

As the plane was climbing to 25,000 feet above the drop zone he said the requirement had been lifted and he took off the chute.

He fell for about two minutes, then flipped onto his back at the last second and landed perfectly to cheers from those gathered to watch.

Collecting Firewood Frome The Flow Of River

How to make Homemade Air Conditioner

I took the grate off of my fan, so I could put the heat exchanger on the inside, hopefully making it look better. I’m using copper tubing as the heat exchanger, although you could use something else, as copper is not cheap, and not easy to work with. As you can see in the second photo, it’s very easy to kink the tubing, in which case, you stop the flow of water. I grabbed a hole saw to use as a die to wrap the tubing around, and the teeth held nicely against the grate of the fan. As I was going along, I used zip ties to hold the tubing to the grate. Of course, because this will be inside the fan, make sure to clip off the loose ends. Also, make sure that you have both ends of the copper tubing sticking out of the fan, so you can hook up the tubes to the pump.

Top 15 Biggest Body Builders In The World

Every day people around the world decide to take up a sport, hit the gym or work to improve their health and body. For most people, getting in shape and pushing their bodies mean adding a few more minutes on the treadmill, staying out on the field just a bit longer or lengthening that jog by an extra kilometer or two. For most of us, getting in shape and improving our health and bodies is a hobby. For others, in conjunction with something like a major change in diet, it’s a complete lifestyle change. Then, at the extreme end of the spectrum, there are those who get so into their sport or exercise that it can consume them, change who they are and even lead down a dark road.
The world of bodybuilding is one such sport which can be so rewarding to some and so damaging to others. Even those people who aren’t overly familiar with the sport know some of its greatest ever competitors. Ask anyone on the street who a famous bodybuilder is and you’ll likely get the response of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yes, Arnold is one of the best known thanks to his movie and political career. Yet another is Lou Ferrigno, TV’s Incredible Hulk and another iconic bodybuilder of the 1970s and 1980s. Beyond these, most people wouldn’t know any others but there is a whole culture of bodybuilding and competition which sees men and women from around the world compete for various titles and accolades.
To an outsider, the muscle-covered bodybuilder is a perfect specimen of what heights humans can get to physically. Bulging and rippled, professional bodybuilders can be an impressive sight to behold during competitions. Yet, in this sense, the sport can sometimes be a complete façade. First, muscles and healthy looking exterior doesn’t necessarily mean a healthy interior and more than one bodybuilder has been known to die from poor health. Second, and linked with poor health, is the almost taboo topic of steroid use. Many bodybuilders use them and defend their decision by often stating that proper use is safe. Medical experts have continuously outlined the dangers of steroid use and linked chemical use with everything from heart and kidney failure to cancer and emotional instability.
All of this means that in the world of bodybuilding, competition can often push many individuals to extremes. Sometimes their bodies just can’t handle it. Other times, using steroids makes the situation worse, amplifying conditions which already existed. Finally, there are those whose competitive nature gets the best of them, making them do foolish or dangerous things they otherwise wouldn’t attempt. All of these are covered to varying degrees in the following video. Ahead lie 10 bodybuilders who went too far and suffered the consequences of their trade.
