A fire ripping through the Bagbazaar of Dadeldhura is spiraling out of control as a fire engine dispatched from Dipayal is yet to arrive at the incident site. Vast quantities of rice meant to be distributed to earthquake victims remains stored in warehouses throughout Nepal, and instead of being handed out for free it will be sold to the public at wholesale prices. The Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) government agency said millions of dollars worth of rice donated by the Bangladesh government in the wake of the devastating 7.8 magnitude quake in April last year is slowly expiring in storage. But it argues that there is "no demand" for the rice or additional food from disaster-struck villages around the country. The proceeds from the rice, which at market prices would bring in around US$30 million, will be placed in a future disaster fund available for use by the government. However, the fund has not yet been established and further details have not been ironed out.

The build-up for the climax is fascinating and it latches your attention.

But the story of an aggrieved cop fails to gather unanimous connect because it never soars above being a single man’s desire to take revenge. The film’s science-fiction value, too, is never fully explored. What chemicals cause Raghu’s skin to char so dramatically? What is the magic potion that regenerates his cells from scratch? The riddle behind what went into Raghu’s transformation into Mr X remains unanswered.

Hashmi, however, attempts to bring a heartfelt earnestness to his character. He shares a warm chemistry with Amyra, who has a lot better screen presence since her last film Issaq. Arunoday Singh is suavely dangerous but his character lacks depth.

The film’s VFX could’ve been far better and looks shabby in places. The scenes where Mr X is sparsely visible, are the ones in which its poor quality is noticeable. The 3D effect does help its visual appeal.

Despite flaws, in its 133 minutes of runtime, Bhatt churns out a quasi-gratifying film, which has all the necessary commercial ingredients – from romance to good music to thunderous action sequences.

A few weeks ago I was at my brother’s lovely new house in the country and had been inspired to make a salmon kedgeree for dinner. Which meant boiling up and peeling a few eggs. I didn’t really think much of it, although it had been a very long time since I’d boiled an egg.

But when I came to the peeling part, I found it very perplexing. I banged each egg on the sink to crack the shells and while some peeled effortlessly, almost in one piece, others were seriously stubborn. These ended up pockmarked where some bits of the white had been peeled away with the shell. Poor eggs.

So when my brother asked me the secret to peeling boiled eggs, I had to share my frustration with him. It was time to do some research.

The Healthy Vagina – The vagina serves as a passageway between the outside of the body and the inner reproductive organs. Effects of the Menstrual Cycle – The menstrual cycle affects the vaginal environment. You may notice increased wetness and clear discharge around mid-cycle. The pH balance of the vagina fluctuates during the cycle and is the least acidic on the days just prior to and during menstruation. Infections, therefore, are most common at this time.

Signs of Abnormal Discharge – Any changes in color or amount of discharge may be a sign of a vaginal infection. Vaginal infections are very common; most women will experience some form of a vaginal infection in their lifetime. If you experience any of the symptoms below, this may be a sign of vaginal infection:

Discharge accompanied by itching, rash or soreness
Persistent, increased discharge
Burning on skin during urination

The Nepali rupee has gained by Rs 6 against the US dollar over the last three months. The appreciation of the rupee is in line with the strengthening of the Indian currency (IC), with which it is pegged.

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has fixed the exchange rate at Rs 93.94 per dollar for Saturday. The rate was at Rs 99.83 per dollar on February 23. This means the US dollar has plunged by Rs 5.89 against the rupee in the last three months.

The dollar had risen to as high as Rs 108.90 on August 29, 2013, before slowing down. Ever since the election fever gripped India, with different surveys suggesting victory for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the IC started to gain against the dollar.

Earlier, given the economic slowdown in India, foreign institutional investors were pulling out their investment, contributing to the weakening of the IC.

When first phase of Indian general elections began on April 7, the exchange rate was Rs 98.21 per dollar, but the rupee strengthened to Rs 94.37 when the vote counting began.

Analysts also attributed the appreciation of the IC, and subsequently the Nepali rupee, to the political change in India.

Min Bahadur Shrestha, executive director at the research department of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), said increased investor confidence following the political in India seems to be the reason behind the weakening of the US dollar in the Indian and Nepali markets. On Friday, the IC hit an 11-month high of IRs 58.36 per dollar. Shrestha said the dollar could hover at Rs 90-95 per dollar in the future.

The depreciation of the US dollar is likely to affect the Nepali economy in two ways. As a positive effect, it will help cool inflation as imports from countries other than India will be cheaper. Such imports account for around 33 percent of the total imports. And as the negative effect, it could bring down the value of the remittance sent by migrant Nepali workers. As the country is increasingly becoming reliant on remittance for spending, it may also affect business activities.

Shrestha said that the impact of the appreciation of US dollar in remittance has not been seen so far. “Remittance in terms of US dollar grew by the usual rate of 16-17 percent last month,” he said.

Importers expect the price of goods imported from

countries other than India may go down. Akhil Chapagain, president of Nepal-Turkey Chamber of Commerce, said the prices could drop by up to 10 percent. “As the import costs have been decreasing in the recent days, it could make foreign goods cheaper,” he said.

He, however, denied the possibility of an instant price drop. “As importers have already booked for imports for now, it could take another one month to see the impact.”

Food stores in the valley also said the prices of imported food items have not come down yet. “The food price has remained stable over the last one month,” said an attendant at Jajodiya Food Store of Gyaneshwor.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India has started adopting measures to control the downfall of the dollar. According to Reuters, the central bank of India bought the US dollar from the Indian markets on Friday.

On Friday night, a consumer, found to his horror a dead lizard in a bottle of Coca Cola that he had just drunk. A small bottle of the drink, which he purchased at a local tea-stall near Five Lights in West Mambalam came with value addition. Just as K.T.Varghese, who was on a business visit from Kozhikode, Kerala, was about to finish the drink, he says he found a dead lizard, stuck to the bottom, inside the bottle. "I could not make out that the lizard was in the bottle, because it was the same colour as the drink," Mr.Varghese claimed.

Taken aback, he confronted the owner of the tea stall with the bottle, who told him the bottle had come sealed in a batch (manufacturing date: 10 June, 2003) that was delivered by his regular dealer. The tea-shop owner tried to contact the dealer, but could not reach him.

Following this, Mr.Varghese who retained the bottle containing the dead lizard, rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. He was given drugs to wash out the stomach, but the memory of having drunk from the bottle containing the dead lizard kept him queasy all of the next day too.

Four people were found dead under mysterious circumstances at a house in Ranagaun of Chayachhetra-9 in Salyan district on Wednesday. An elderly man has been injured.

They were murdered at around 8 am on Wednesday, District Police Office Salyan said. The deceased are Sita Rana, 22, here two-and-a-half-year daughter Pabitra Khan, one-year-old daughter Sabita Khan and her neighbour Gita Giri, 17, were found dead and the identity of injured elderly has not been known.

However, the police have not been able to find who committed the murder. Police said they have been investigating the murder and the details about the
