Daughter k!lls her father over property dispute

The Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka arrested a woman along with seven others from Dhamaltar in Tokha-11 for allegedly killing her father.

According to SSP Sahakul Thapa, Sangeeta Maharjan, her husband Santosh Pandey and six others- Santosh Pandey of Nuwakot, Bikram Tamang and Santosh Thapamagar of Dhading of Dhading, Surya Ranamagar of Makawanpur, Dhan Kumar Tamang of Bhojpur and Hari Tamang of Kavrepalanchowk killed Maila Maharjan (43) of Tokha using a sharp weapon.

Police investigation revealed that Sangeeta planned her father’s murder over a property dispute that erupted after he repeatedly refused to give her 4/5 lakhs rupees to start a beauty parlor on the pretext that she married Santosh against the family’s wish.

Police on February 4 had found Maila Maharjan, living in Tokha murdered near Sangle rivulet. Maharajan had received severe injury on forehead, hand and chest.

Investigation into the case was underway, said police.
