Nepal PM KP Oli condemns

7:50 PM

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the Legislature Parliament on Wednesday. PM Oli condemned the June 20 Taliban attack in Kabul that killed 13 Nepali nationals and left six more Nepalis injured. The dead and the injured were working at Canadian Embassy in Kabul. British security company, Sabre, had taken the Nepali nationals to Afghanistan for employment. PM Oli clarified that the government had brought home the dead and the injured at its own expenses, refuting claims that employment agency concerned had provided funds for the same. He said his government will also fund the treatment of those injured in the attack. Five of the injured are receiving treatment in India and one in Afghanistan. The government had sent a Nepal Airlines flight to Kabul for bringing home the dead and other workers, who wanted to return. Oli said attempts had been made to downplay the government’s initiative by claiming that foreign employment agencies had provided funds for airlifting the bodies.
