UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha has urged the ruling parties to prepare a favourable environment conducive for talks. He said that the agitating opposition parties are ready to sit for talks.Speaking at an interaction programme organised by Revolutionary Journalist Association at Dhankuta on Friday, leader Shrestha said if the environment for talks is created soon, a fresh initiation can be taken to promulgate the new constitution through consensus.“A new point for consensus can be determined only after holding table talks,” said Shrestha, “Agitating parties are always in the favour of talks. It is the responsibility of ruling parties to create an environment for meaningful and result oriented talks. We hope such environment will be created soon.”The UCPN (M) leader said that his party is ready to be more flexible if Nepali Congress and CPN-UML came into consensus on drafting an all consented constitution. He stressed on consensus among the parties who are in favour of peace and federal democracy. However, leader Shrestha said that it was impossible to collaborate with Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal, which is an avid advocate of the monarchy.Speaking during the programme, leader Shrestha said that the stand of the political parties, as sit is, could not resolve the current crisis adding that a lot of time has been wasted and until the part-takers of peace process and people’s movement do not unite, a prosperous and socially justified constitution cannot be promulgated.
