The next time you get caught in a traffic jam and are in need of all traffic-related information, a mobile application ‘’Traffic Police, Nepal’ could come handy to you.

Inspector General of Police Upendra Kant Aryal, on behalf of the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, will be launching the mobile app tomorrow. The cellphone app will bring all traffic-related information to the finger tip of mobile users and help them get information about road stretches facing and not facing traffic jams in real time.

The app would also help users report the traffic police about any road accident that requires immediate intervention. ‘Traffic Police, Nepal’ app enables users within the Kathmandu Valley to get information about traffic jams and the best route available for hassle-free drive. It will also help users file motorcycle theft complaint and report accident and hit-and-run cases, overcharging of transport fares, sexual harassment in public vehicles, among others, via smart phone.

According to officials, users can also get information about punishment and fine for any violation of traffic rules. In addition, model question papers of driving licence exam and the meaning of different traffic signals can be obtained from the app.

Notification about any traffic-related information, incident and accident is sent to the app immediately. Users can send traffic police the pictorial and documentary evidence through the app. It also provides the users the name and telephone number of nearest traffic police personnel for any help.
