Over 700 vehicles stranded in Chitwan due to a banda enforced by the CPN Maoist today were escorted to their respective destinations, police said. Meanwhile, the district remains affected partially due to the shutdown. Transport operated partially while local stores and industries remained open partly. The banda enforcers vandalised three buses for defying the shutdown, said Superintendent of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar. He added that windowpanes of the buses were smashed. He also said that six protesters were arrested in connection with the vandalism.
