A rare double burst of magnetically charged solar storms will hit Earth on August 2nd, raising concerns that GPS signals, radio communications and power transmissions could be disrupted. INCOMING SOLAR STORM: During the late hours of July 28th, a filament of magnetism erupted on the sun, slingshotting a cloud of plasma (CME) into space. NOAA analysts have computer-modeled the trajectory of this CME, and they say it is likely to strike Earth's magnetic field late on August 1st. This is not a major storm cloud, but it is not alone. A solar wind stream is following closely behind it. The double blow could strongly disturb Earth's polar magnetic field. NOAA forecasters say there is a 70% chance of G1 or G2-class geomagnetic storms on Aug. 2nd.spaceweather.com

A bilateral meeting between security officials of Nepal and India held at Kunauli of India on Friday has agreed to immediately halt the construction of levee at Dasgaja area (no-man's land) across Tilathi of Saptari district, informed Saptari SP Bhim Prasad Dhakal. The meeting decided to form a joint team comprising representatives from Nepal's Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention and India's Jal Sansadhan Department to immediately make an onsite inspection of controversial area and present a report with recommendation for solution. "The meeting decided to halt the construction of dam till the committee submits its report," said SP Dhakal.The bilateral meeting today was attended by Chief District Officer of Saptari Baldev Gautam and DM Baijnath Yadav of Supoul district, India. Rajendra Mahato is a Nepali politician and the President of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party party. He is one of the highest-ranked member of the Terai-Madhesh based parties alliance.

The Indian side has started the construction works of a dam near Tilathi, Saptari at the border between Nepal-India by transgressing the Dasgaja area. Tension gripped the area after the Indian side unilaterally initiated the construction that would put the Nepali territory at the risk of flooding. The Indian side started the construction after a dam was destroyed by flooding in Khado River despite the Nepali people’s protest and local administration’s request to not carry out the construction work. Indian citizens and technicians are busy in building the dam.
